Mitchell Park Place is a newly completed affordable housing community located at 525 East Charleston Road in Palo Alto, adjacent to Mitchell Park. The development includes 50 total rental homes, with 25 units set aside for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts designed to support independent living.
The four-story, elevator-served building is designed for accessibility, with thoughtfully planned units featuring spacious bathrooms and functional kitchen storage. Shared amenities include a community lounge with kitchen, fitness room, library and tech learning space, community room for gatherings and programming, on-site resident services and support offices, landscaped courtyards, and bicycle parking, all supporting a connected and accessible living environment.
Mitchell Park Place was developed by Eden Housing in partnership with Santa Clara County, the City of Palo Alto, AbilityPath, Architects FORA (formerly OJK Architecture + Planning), and L&D Construction Co., Inc. Santa Clara County contributed key land and funding support, while the City of Palo Alto assisted through entitlements and housing coordination. AbilityPath also provides on-site supportive services for residents, and Eden Housing serves as both developer and property manager.
